Background: Uncomplicated urinary tract infection (cystitis) is the most common bacterial among women visiting primary care clinics, and approximately 50% experience recurrence. Recurrent cystitis represents a substantial burden on patients’ quality of life, healthcare costs, antibiotics overuse.Current Concepts: Symptoms remain cornerstone diagnosis, urine culture necessary if recurrent suspected. Antibiotics (typically nitrofurantoin fosfomycin) are first-line treatment. Based resistance data, cephalosporins amoxicillin-clavulanate second-line treatment recommendations. Fluoroquinolones not options because safety concerns rising rates. In considering patients with cystitis, it important to assess patient’s risk factors. Postmenopausal may present differently require different diagnostic approaches from that younger women. Non-antimicrobial prevent preferred due tolerability, safety, antimicrobial concerns, patient choice. Oral immunostimulant effective for any age, vaginal estrogen therapy additionally recommended in postmenopausal Self-start post-coital antibiotic non-antimicrobial prophylaxis be combined. Low-dose continuous considered whom other regimens fail.Discussion Conclusion: To improve life medical women, closing gap between physicians’ perceptions needs necessary. Furthermore, various preventive therapies should fully utilized.
